Greg Williams

GenMin Camp & Event Ministry leader

Greg was born and grew up in Hendersonville, North Carolina. After graduation from high school he entered Ambassador College in Pasadena, California. There he met his future wife, Susan Lang, who grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota and graduated from Ambassador College.

After graduating from Ambassador, Greg taught Physical Education and History at Imperial Schools in Pasadena, California. After teaching for two years Greg was hired full-time as a ministerial trainee in the WCG Glendora, California congregation. Greg was ordained in 1986.

After two years of service in Glendora, Susan gave birth to twin sons and as soon as they were able to travel the family moved to Denver, Colorado to serve as Assistant Pastor of the WCG Denver congregation. While serving in Denver, Greg was responsible for the coordination of regional church-related athletic events involving youth and adults.

In 1990 Susan gave birth to a third son and they moved again to serve as Pastor of the WCG congregation in Fayetteville, North Carolina. During the years in North Carolina Greg served as district youth ministry coordinator, regional camp director, and completed a masters degree in religion from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Greg became a dual career pastor in 2001 and split his time as Executive Director of Fayetteville Area Youth for Christ. In 2006 the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia where Greg is full-time director of Metro Atlanta Youth for Christ and a volunteer Assistant Pastor in Freedom Church (the WCG congregation in Kennesaw, Georgia).

During the last several years Greg has journeyed with Jeb Egbert, Ted Johnston and several other camp leaders in the evolution from a national to a regional WCG camp model. The journey included training from the American Camping Association (ACA) and Sonlife Ministries. Greg has written camp teaching curricula and served on staff in a number of WCG regional camps.

His focus in all of this work is to bring glory to God by multiplying servant-leaders for multi-generational Great Commandment-Great Commission (GC2) ministry. Greg's particular passion is to mobilize adult and student youth workers to reach out to youth who do not know Jesus. This outreach is first relational and followed up with intentional gospel-sharing programs like Discovery Weekends and Summer Camps. It is Greg’s prayer that GenMin Camps will win thousands of teens to the Lord!
